Venue
Ballarat's Civic Hall has re-emerged as one of the City's most popular and adaptable event spaces. Following a major renovation in 2019, the Ballarat Civic Hall hosts an annual season of diverse, entertaining and world-class events and performances for local, regional, national and international organisations.
Whether you’re a local or from further afield, The Goods Shed is perfectly positioned to welcome all kinds of visitors. Located only a short walk from Ballarat’s central business district, serviced by incredible public transport links and offering free car parking, The Goods Shed is a hub of activity, creation and entertainment.
Mirroring Ballarat’s rich history, the Ballaarat Mining Exchange was built between 1887-1889 and was used for trading of shares in mining companies during the Gold Rush era. Retaining many of the heritage features, the Ballaarat Mining Exchange continues to host a multitude of events.
The Art Gallery of Ballarat is not just Australia’s oldest regional gallery but one of its most exciting. Located in the heart of Ballarat’s central heritage precinct, the Gallery boasts a stunning collection of Australian art. The Gallery’s magnificent collection of Australian paintings, sculpture, ceramics and works on paper gives visitors the opportunity to experience key moments in the history of Australian art, with important representative works from colonial to contemporary periods.
Established in 1859, and independently run, membership to the Ballarat Mechanics’ Institute gives access to our lending library and heritage books and archives, and discounts on events and hire. Sitting proudly under the watchful eye of Minerva, the Ballarat Mechanics’ Institute has welcomed a diverse group of people through its doors, from the founding fathers, to miners and others seeking knowledge through education.
