Famous Sharron
Glambassador, Perth, WA
Dolls, I just decided to be the fame I wanted to see in the world. I didn’t pretend to be talented, or move out of Morley… I just used the world as my catwalk and started telling people I was famous… for nothing at all! I still remember the day someone in my local shopping centre, the Galleria, stopped me and said “Wait, aren’t you Famous Sharron?” And I replied “YES, YES I AM”. Then they handed me a flyer for paint-balling, and I knew that that I’d made it. Today’s celebrities have shown us you don’t need talent to be front and centre. You just need you. So put yourSELF into your selfie and get famous with me, dolls.
My famous origin story started when…I went to paradise and married Darren in Bali. It was fabulous. A room full of flowers, a Bintang fountain and a watermelon statue of me…We all had a photographer each – and I had three – because every side is my best side. The more they took photos, the more other people flocked to the beach to see what was happening. I was getting so much attention, and soon tourists and locals also started taking photos. I felt like Britney, they all wanted a piece of me.
One of the passers by asked “Are you famous?” and then “Why are you wearing that?” I said “I’m Sharron, dolls”, and he said “Are you famous Sharron?” and I decided, yes, yes I was. I turned, flicked my leopard tulle veil into the air and posed for the people. Famous Sharron had arrived! (As had a serious bout of Bali belly but that’s another story).
Since then it’s been a celebrity whirlwind. I’ve been on all the TV channels, The Project, Elle Magazine, TV Week, a regular on radio and all over newspapers. I’m known as the Face of Wah (WA), and am the Glambassador for Event Cinemas, Art Gallery of WA, ART ON THE MOVE and PRIDE WA. I win hearts, but I also win awards… four and counting… Best Promotions - Bike Week WA, Best Individual - PRIDE WA, Best Marketing - New Zealand Fringe and Spirit of the Fringe - FRINGE WORLD.
Of course none of this would be possible without my incredible Shampions, with who I have taken over 30,000 selfies, toured the country and celebrated every second.
