Beginning his career as a standout medical student, he quickly found his passion in wound care management—a specialty he has since shaped through relentless dedication and innovation. His journey led him to establish the Malaysian Society of Wound Care Professionals and play a pivotal role in setting national standards through the National Committee on Wound Management, elevating Malaysia's global standing in healthcare.

As a respected professor, Dr Hari has mentored countless medical professionals, emphasizing excellence and specialized care in wound management. He leads a renowned wound care unit known for its international acclaim, culminating in his election as President of the World Union of Wound Healing Societies. His contributions extend beyond clinical practice; he has championed initiatives in diabetic foot care and received prestigious awards such as the World Health Organization Dr. Lee Jong-wook Memorial Prize for Public Health.
