Michelle Joy Broun is a proud Yindjibarndi women living on Whadjuk Noongar Country, Western Australia; working locally, thinking globally, and guided by the wisdom of her Elders past and present.  Michelle specialises in curating Aboriginal arts and cultural materials and intangible cultural heritage, developing content for exhibitions which engage diverse audiences, break down stereotypes and promote cross-cultural understanding. She collaborates with community, artists, and institutions to build positive and productive relationships, and innovate creatively to interpret, engage with, and activate collections. 

Michelle is a qualified cultural planner who co-designs cultural programs and contributes to cultural policy and protocol. She is currently enrolled in the Masters of Cultural Heritage and Museum Studies at Deakin University with a focus on collections and curating and researching Australian First Nations collections, the return of cultural materials to community and cultural safety in records.
