Heather is a career intelligence professional and national security community leader with over 33 years experience spanning operations, analysis, strategy and policy. Prior to being appointed CEO of the ACIC in January this year, Heather served in a variety of senior roles, most recently as Deputy Director-General of the Australian Security Intelligence Organisation (ASIO) where she led ASIO’s Counter Terrorism and Counter Espionage and Foreign Interference mission. Heather has a passion for supporting the broader work of the national security community and has served as member of the Distinguished Advisors panel at the National Security College at ANU where she enjoyed mentoring emerging leaders as part of the College’s Executive Development programs.
