Conference Streams

All dimensions of Cyber Security including people, policy, process and technology.  This stream is not meant to compete with AusCert but rather provide an opportunity for Cyber Security professionals and the broader higher ed IT community to present and discuss contemporary challenges and opportunities. 

Topics could include:

  • Security by Design 
  • Awareness and Education Programs

  • Specific Regulatory Challenges eg Research Data

  • Responding to legislative changes eg Critical Infrastructure, Information Privacy

How digital transformation is changing the way universities do business and how IT is driving or responding to those changes. 

Topics could include: 

  • Artificial Intelligence

  • Technology in Physical Spaces 
  • Data and Analytics
  • Student Experience 
  • Online Learning 
  • Collaboration and Communication 
  • Architecting Cohesive Digital Solutions 
  • Application Consolidation and Transformation
  • ICT Network Technology
  • Infrastructure and Data Centres

 Together

How IT is partnering within and outside the institution to deliver transformational change. 

Topics could include: 

  • Service Management and Delivery Initiatives 
  • Transformational Change Management 
  • Digital Skills Assessment and Development 
  • Diversity Initiatives 
  • Unique Vendor Partnerships or Sourcing Approaches 
  • Large Business Transformation Initiatives 

Presentation Types

  • 25 minute presentations (20 + 5min)
  • Lightening rounds (8 mins)
  • Short Hits of Training - SHoTS (25min)
  • BoF
  • Long Form training (1.5-3 hours)

Abstract Selection

Abstracts will be assessed by the conference program committee using the following criteria:

  • Abstract is well written and contains sufficient information to allow a delegate to establish what may be gained by attendance at the presentation
  • Originality: is novel and new
  • Relevance to the conference theme - "2021: Enable and Protect Together"
  • Applicability and potential for re-use or application of content by the audience
  • Includes and recounts actual experiences relevant to the sector (e.g case studies)
  • Overall

The final program will not be determined by a purely mechanical (formulaic) approach. The program committee's primary goal is to establish an event that is of value to delegates. It will use its discretion to consider issues such as establishing an appropriate mix of content, and appropriately balancing high-level vs deeper content.
