Men’s Behaviour Change Facilitator, Yoowinna Wurnalung Aboriginal Healing Service

Cathryn Rowe is a Men’s Behaviour Change Facilitator for Yoowinna Wurnalung Aboriginal Healing Service. Cathryn grew up in East Gippsland before moving to Melbourne to pursue academic studies in Criminal Justice Administration and Social Science (Justice), which has focused her career in and around the criminal justice system. Her work experience involves supporting victims of violent crime through the Victim Support Agency, investigating police misconduct and corruption through the Independent Broad Based Anti-Corruption Commission (IBAC), becoming a Human Resources Advisor for the Department of Justice and Community Safety and an Advanced Case Manager for Corrections Victoria. More recently, Cathryn has been facilitating the Men’s Behaviour Change Program and has experience in mainstream service delivery as well as supporting Aboriginal men at the Healing Service.  Cathryn aims to provide a culturally safe space for Aboriginal men and men linked to community, whilst supporting their journey to choose a lifestyle free from the use of violence. She works holistically with clients through education, support and advocacy to assist families build safer, stronger and better connections with each other and the community.
