Patrick Kidd OBE OAM

Patrick Kidd as the CEO of the Future Skills Organisation (FSO) has been instrumental in piloting upskilling approaches based on employer needs, drawing on his extensive background in training, stakeholder management and leading complex change programs.  

Patrick is committed to driving success through data-driven insights and evidence-based analysis. The FSO is currently regarded as a dependable collaborator in the push for upskilling, driving digital literacy for all, and leveraging skill-based approaches to bridge the skills gap. The approaches have been tested in a variety of organisations, bringing together leaders from government, industry, and education to coordinate and collaborate.  

Prior to joining FSO, Patrick was the Chief Executive Officer of the Invictus Games Sydney, where he managed the Australian team's preparations for and delivery of the 2018 Games. He oversaw the entire process, from bid submission to stakeholder communication to event preparation and execution. Patrick received an Australia Day Honour in 2020 for his outstanding contributions to the world of disability sports. 

Patrick also worked as a Principal Consultant at Deloitte, advising public, commercial, and non-profit organisations on business strategy and operational change. He has advised on commercial and digital transformation initiatives in the sports and events industries, in addition to his work on the Department of Defence's Innovation Hub and other complex equipment programs. 

Patrick's vast military training history from his time in the British Army and the Australian Defence Force makes him a tremendous asset to any organisation. Notably, he served as the Australian Army's Head of Capability Modernisation and as the Deputy Commander of the Coalition Forces in southern Afghanistan. Patrick was awarded the OBE and the Queen's Commendation for his service. 

Patrick serves on the boards of numerous organisations and serves on advisory committees for others, including the Emergency Services Foundation (Victoria) and the Australian International Military Games. 

Patrick Kidd's knowledge, strategic approach, and passion for furthering the skills agenda have been essential in impacting the future of skills development in Australia, driving positive change, and unlocking opportunities for individuals and business
