Teah Olsen
TSTL 2022 Alumni; Member Employment Youth Advisory Group (DEWR)

Teah Olsen's journey in engineering began early, completing a Certificate I while still in Year 11. She actively pursued apprenticeship opportunities before finishing high school, receiving guidance from teachers and conducting her own research. Starting with Arnott’s Biscuits, she embarked on a Certificate III in Engineering, advancing to a Certificate IV shortly after. Teah’s achievements include winning the gold medal in the Fitting category at the 2019 WorldSkills Australia Queensland State Championships and competing nationally in 2021. She was twice awarded the MIGAS MiScholarship Women in Trades Apprentice of the Year (2018, 2020) and further honed her skills with CAD training. Teah has participated in the MIGAS MiScholarship judging panel for the past two years, showing support and recognising outstanding apprentices and trainees across a variety of fields. Passionate about promoting women in trades, she remains committed to mentoring others, particularly young women, in their trade journeys. Teah also serves on the Youth Employment Advisory Board with the Office for Youth, collaborating on policies and programs that facilitate youth transitioning into the workforce.
