Aiwei Foster

Nurse Practitioner


Aiwei Foster is a Nurse Practitioner with extensive experience in wound and lymphoedema management who also works as a Wound Clinical Nurse Consultant at Melbourne Health. She is passionate about enhancing patient outcomes through research insights, lifelong learning and fostering interprofessional collaboration. 

At Melbourne Health, Aiwei coordinates a special interest group program, Wound Resource Nurse (WReN), that comprises of 80 nurses and supports best practice wound care and education on the wards. She participated in a few research trials with one of them a randomised controlled trial and was published in the International Wound Care Journal. With a desire to inspire and share with others, Aiwei has delivered education and presented at conferences nationally and internationally. She collaborated with National University of Singapore as a co-developer and lecturer of the wound care modules for their post graduate nursing course and masterclass program from 2018 -2022. More recently, she was a keynote speaker at Singapore St Luke’s Hospital 16th Annual Wound Conference 2023 to empower healthcare professionals through continuous learning and exploration. 

Aiwei has also been appointed as the Chief Examiner of Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) OSCE exams for international nurses and is a current member of the Australian College of Nurse Practitioners.
