AWSA Summer School 2024

On behalf of the Australian Wound and Skin Alliance (AWSA) we would like to thank you for your participation in the
inaugural Summer School 2024.

The AWSA Summer School offered participants the opportunity to engage with experts in the field and those who challenge the science. The unique learning experience provided education beyond didactic lectures and the format allowed for review of the topic, discussion on what is considered best practice and exploration of the positive aspects and limitations, as well as emerging trends and technologies for the future. Debate, critical thinking, and counter opinions were well received.

The audience included Advanced Clinicians in Allied Health and Nursing, Nurse Practitioners, Medical Practitioners, Scientists and emerging leaders in the field of wound management.

The numbers were purposely being limited to maximise the learning experience.

The Alliance Board: Terry Swanson (Nurse Practitioner), Dr Nikki Frescos (Podiatry), Jan Rice (Wound consultant) and Andrea Minnis (Nurse Practitioner) are passionate clinicians who have dedicated years to education and researching best practices. The alliance has been formed through a bond of dedication and commitment to foster an environment where clinicians have opportunities for mentorship, understanding of ethical practices and to develop friendships and networks. We are excited to be able to offer such a unique experience that will nurture new clinicians and support and challenge the more experienced.

It was a very successful event and we were privileged to be a part of this experience.

Thank you to our inaugural Platinum Sponsor
