Spotlight: The Fort / Voices for Change
An award-winning interior designer, Shaynna Blaze is known to many for her television roles on Selling Houses Australia, The Block, Shaynna’s World of Design, Deadline Design, Buying Blind and winner of 2021 Celebrity Apprentice.
Her unerring eye for style has seen her establish her Interior Design business Blankcanvas Interiors, design beautiful products for brands including Molmic, Urban Road, Harris Scarfe, One World collection and Timberline, has authored two books on interior design, and has penned regular columns on design, style and interiors for the likes of Stellar Magazine, The Herald Sun, and Grand Designs Magazine.
Shaynna co-founded Voice of Change to amplify the voices of victim-survivors of family violence, to champion meaningful education about – and action against – family violence, and to bring about prevention and change.
The idea for Voice of Change was conceived during the production of The Fort, a movie about a mother and son living with family violence. The subject matter addressed during filming of The Fort impacted the cast and crew greatly, and the closed set provided a safe environment in which to share personal and confronting conversations.
