Prof Manjula Datta O’Connor is a psychiatrist in private practice with special interest in migrant women’s mental health, family violence and complex trauma. She is Hon Clinical A/ Professor at the Department of Psychiatry University of Melbourne, Adjunct Professor University of New South Wales Department of Social Sciences.

Manjula Chairs the Royal Australian New Zealand College of Psychiatrists Family Violence Psychiatry Network, member of CPD Committee and RANZCP Journals Committee. Manjula is active in translating research for communities via public education campaigns; ensuring that communities understand the nature of sexual and domestic abuse in common mental health disorders, suicide prevention. She co-founded the Australasian Centre for Human Rights and Health. 

Manjula successfully led the dowry abuse campaign in Australia culminating in law change in Victoria. She is an invited expert on committees, a reviewer of academic journals, published author and informs public debate around safety of migrant women.
