Presenting: Recognising diversity in perpetrator populations: Learnings from three Australian Program Studies

Associate Professor Kate Fitz-Gibbon is a leading violence against women scholar and Director of the Monash Gender and Family Violence Prevention Centre. Her research focuses on the impacts of the law in practice, risk assessment and management practices, service system reform, and the development and effectiveness of perpetrator interventions. Fitz-Gibbon’s research has been disseminated through leading academic outlets and a range of non-academic outlets to facilitate knowledge translation to policy, sector and community audiences. She has received over $12million in funding for family violence research. In recognition of her expertise, Fitz-Gibbon has served on numerous Victorian Government Committees post- Royal Commission, including the Expert Advisory Committee on Perpetrator Interventions, and the MARAM and Workforce Implementation Working Group. In 2018 she was appointed to the inaugural Respect Victoria Board of Directors, and in 2021 she was appointed Chair of Respect Victoria.
