Presenting: Strong Men Safe Families

Ivan Clarke is a Barkinji/Malyangappa man who resides on Bunjalung Country. Ivan identify as a member of the Stolen Generation and a survivor of Sexual assault. 

Ivan is responsible for designing and facilitating the Strong Aboriginal Men’s series of Programs delivered by the Education Centre Against Violence and the additional Program supporting the empowerment of Aboriginal Men to reclaim their rolls and responsibilities for safety for women and children in their respective communities The Bennelong Aboriginal Men’s Counsel. 

Ivan has studied at Sydney university under the ECAV training and achieved a Grad Cert in Family and Community support. Ivan has accumulated extensive experience working with Aboriginal men and families as a result of facilitating the SAM program in more than 35 Communities across NSW and effectively engaged with more than 600 Aboriginal men. 

 Ivan lives in a small community called Nashua in the Byron hinterland where he lives with his Partner Rhonda, Their Brumby Horse Crackers and the resident Koala Roman. Ivan is an avid Golfer and Cricketer and supports the West Tigers Football Team.
