Fatima Benel is the 5th child of Egyptian migrant parents who came to Australia in the early 70s.
From a young age Fatima witnessed the oppression of migrant and other minorities including indigenous women and wanted to do something with her life to change it.
Fatima has spent most of her career working in the child protection, family law, domestic violence law and care and protection space.
Currently Fatima is a Community Engagement and Project Coordinator for Settlement Services International working in the Mens Behaviour Change Space particularly within the Arabic and Muslim Community.
Fatima is also a Solicitor that works with the Aboriginal Women's Legal Service - Wirringa Baiya in Marrickville Sydney.
