Monique Yeoman
Kids First Australia

Monique Yeoman is an experienced social worker and Caring Dads trainer and facilitator. Her more than 15 years of experience spans Child Protection, Community Services, Family Services, and Men’s Behaviour Change. Currently, Monique is State Manager, Child Youth and Family Services at Kids First Australia, a non-government organisation supporting children and families nationally.

Monique commenced her career Child Protection in New Zealand and then Australia, prior to moving into the community services sector in 2015.  There, she helped develop and implement a large-scale Victorian state-funded trial delivering early intervention and prevention services to clients in a multidisciplinary, client-led framework.

Monique’s achievements include in her role as coordinator for the Victorian state-funded Caring Dads trial, an Australian-first project led by Kids First Australia. She oversaw the trial’s implementation, fidelity, and supported its evaluation. This led to Caring Dads recognition for its innovative response to protecting children at the Victorian Protecting Children’s Awards in 2021. Monique also established a national community of practice where facilitators of the Caring Dads modality across Australia connect, share practice reflections and insights, and contribute to the development of this highly valued intervention service for fathers who use violence.

Monique is a passionate advocate for the integration of systems designed to support the safety and wellbeing of families. Her experience in the statutory and community services sectors, coupled with her strong commitment to partnerships, has enabled the development of new and exciting projects – including the commencement of the KODY Project, a adaptation of the Caring Dads program in partnership with Odyssey House and the University of Melbourne that includes alcohol and other drugs counselling, and the implementation of Early Help projects across two local government areas.

In 2022, Monique was the recipient of the Safe and Together Institute Champion Award for Systems Change.
