Michael Brandenburg 

Tangentyere Council

Michael is currently the manager of the Tangentyere Men’s Behaviour Change Program in Alice Springs. Michael brings over 35 years of experience in the family violence sector, predominantly through his work in Victoria but in more recent times in Central Australia.   Michael has held leadership positions at Child & Family Services Ballarat, No to Violence, Our Watch, Department of Education and Training and in his current role.       

Some career highlights include overseeing the development of one of the first Victorian Specialist Family Violence Court mandated counselling programs for men, one of the first adolescent violence in the home programs, a member of the Expert Advisory Committee on perpetrator interventions (EACPI), recommendation 86 of the Victorian Royal Commission, and while working at No to Violence working on the development of the Multi Agency Risk Assessment and Management (MARAM) perpetrator guides for men who sue violence

Michael also runs MBConsulting providing consultancy,  supervision, mentorship and support  to individuals and organisations in the family violence sector.
