Based in the Canberra press gallery, Clare Armstrong is the federal political reporter for The Daily Telegraph. She covers a wide range of issues, with a particular interest in regional Australia. Clare received the 2021 National Press Club's Wallace Brown Young Journalist Award in recognition of her political reporting, and has also previously received an award from the National Rural Press Club for her coverage of the 2019 drought. After growing up in Tasmania, she reported for newspapers in Brisbane, Townsville and Sydney before moving to Canberra.
