Dr Thomas Ting is the Executive Director of the recently launched Australia’s Economic Accelerator (AEA) Program from the Australian Department of Education.

In this role, Thomas leads the team of Priority Managers and provides specialist advice and leadership on commercialisation for the AEA Program.

Prior to this Thomas was a company Director at UniSA Ventures and Deputy Director- Commercialisation for the University of South Australia.

Thomas has had extensive local and international experience in senior executive roles in business, not-for-profit and the higher education sectors.
Through those roles, he has worked across advanced manufacturing, transport, healthcare, technology, aerospace, defence, and commercialisation of university research.

His journey with the Cooperative Research Centres (CRC) program has been a long and fruitful one. He undertook his PhD at Monash University with one of the earliest CRCs, then subsequently worked as the commercial manager for another CRC and led a company that invested in projects with a CRC.

Thomas is a strong supporter for commercialisation and knowledge exchange from Australia’s higher education sector to industry and works closely with the research, business, and investment community.
